PSHE
Cardinal Pole School values the development of our students beyond academia to help them become responsible, safe and happy individuals following their time at school. Within PSHE (Personal, Social, Health, Economic) education, our values of compassion, integrity, accountability, equality and high expectations, in addition to respect and empathy are a core part of our PSHE delivery.
Building on this foundation, the school is also making steps towards implementing the updated government guidance on Relationships and Sex Education that applies to all schools from September 2026. PSHE and British Values are delivered by form tutors during two weekly form time slots, ensuring that all year groups receive consistent, age‑appropriate content throughout the year. These sessions are complemented by resources from
Ten Ten, who provide a comprehensive RSE programme that covers all required content through an explicitly Catholic lens, helping students to reflect on their development as individuals and members of the wider community.
Students across all key stages benefit from an enriched learning experience through visitors and external experts who lead stand‑alone sessions linked to the RSE curriculum. Recent contributors include Young Hackney, the Schools Consent Project and Forward UK, each offering specialist insight into key themes such as consent, healthy relationships and personal safety. These opportunities support students in deepening their understanding and applying their learning in real‑world contexts.
This programme works alongside our comprehensive careers education, which supports students in understanding the world of work and guides them towards the brightest possible futures. Through high‑quality guidance, information and opportunities for reflection, students gain the confidence and skills they need to make informed decisions about their next steps both in education and beyond.
Communication from parents and guardians is always welcome, and any questions or concerns can be addressed to PSHE Lead, Matthew Tisi.
