Keeping your child safe: Safeguarding information for Parents and Carers
As your child enters adolescence they will become more independent – they will want more and more to do things with their friends, go out on their own and be more private about their feelings.
This is a time when children and young people can be particularly vulnerable, especially as most young people have access to the internet on phones or computers and can be at risk of exploitation, cyber-bullying and radicalisation. As a parent or carer you need to be sensitive to your child’s need for greater independence but at the same time equip them with the knowledge and skills that they need in order to stay safe.
The pages on this area are to help you recognise if your child might be vulnerable, and where you can turn for help.
